Beach Pastel Paintings, Prints
Alongside ballet, this is a favourite subject matter for pastel painting- I am fascinated by the way people (especially children) react to the seaside.
Some time ago, I was lucky enough to live by the sea in Cornwall and am drawn back to the sea often, where I experience a measure of pure calm and serenity.
A much treasured and more recent recent experience was when I attended a short life drawing course at St Ives school of Art. The experience of drawing with the window open in the high studio room was amazing; the sound and sight (and light) of that seaside right there!
